Balloon sinuplasty is a tool used by physicians to treat chronic inflammation of the sinus lining, otherwise known as chronic sinusitis. During the balloon sinuplasty procedure a physician moves a guide wire attached to a tiny balloon into the nostrils to break through any areas that are blocked. The inflated balloon gently opens the nasal passageways without the need to remove any bone or tissue. This non-invasive option allows patients to heal quicker and return to daily activities.
